02-07 JEEP LIBERTY (KJ) POLYURETHANE FRONT DIFFERENTIAL BUSHINGS
Do you feel or hear a “clunk” when accelerating/decelerating? If so then your front differential bushings are the likely cause. The rubber material that the factory used for these bushings is very soft with considerable air space in the bushings. The soft rubber and the air gaps in the bushings allow excessive movement of the front differential. Additionally, these bushings are under tremendous load during acceleration/deceleration. These three points lead to the early demise of factory rubber bushings.
Our polyurethane front differential bushings for the Jeep Liberty are the perfect replacement for your old cracked or missing rubber OEM bushings. Polyurethane is a stronger material than the OEM rubber and will last much longer. Another positive to polyurethane that it has a very high oil resistance unlike their OEM counterparts. Petroleum on OEM bushings will dry them out and eventually cause them to get brittle and crack. Not only is the material stronger but we filled the bushings completely with no air gaps. This minimizes deflection between the inner aluminum tube and the outer housing.
Installing these polyurethane differential bushings will greatly reduce the movement of the front differential without transmitting excessive NVH (noise, vibration, harshness). We have carefully chosen the durometer as well as the aluminum tube size in order to retain factory like comfort. If you have that annoying clunk from the front differential, you can consider it gone after install.
