05-10 JEEP Commander FRONT DIFFERENTIAL BUSHINGS
These polyurethane Jeep Commander bushings replace the low quality, factory installed bushings in the front differential. If there is a “clunk” from the front of your vehicle, the bushing above the pinion is the probable cause. The rubber material that the factory used for these bushings is very soft with considerable air space in the bushings, and they are under tremendous strain during vehicle acceleration. These three points lead to the early demise of the factory bushings. Factory like rubber bushings are a known problem in these vehicles and fail fast.
Polyurethane is the material we use and it is stronger than the OEM rubber. Our bushings are 100% filled (no air space) which minimizes deflection between the inner aluminum tube and outer housing. The use of our bushings will add minimal (if even noticeable) noise transmission to the cabin from the front differential.
We offer two different kits as well as two different durometers (hardness’s) for either a daily driver-street car or a full on race car/off roader. Our axle drop kit is for people that have lifted their Jeep by means of lowering the front axle. With that said, here is a breakdown of what we suggest a customer purchases dependent on the use of the vehicle-
***If you have an axle drop kit on your jeep, you need to select the kits labeled “axle drop”***
- Daily driver/occasional racing or off-roading (700hp or less)- We suggest the kit in black for 90% of our customers. This will keep the differential in place without transmitting too much noise or vibration.
- Race car/hardcore off-roading(unlimited HP)- We suggest the kit in red for about 10% of our customers. These bushings are hard (95A durometer) and the differential will not move. With the full red set you might notice noise and vibration as the polyurethane is a lot stiffer than the factory bushings as well as our black bushings.
