16-24 (6th gen) Chevrolet Camaro ELIMIVIBE® Engine Mounts
OEM Engine Mount Attributes:
Attributes of engine mounts include: comfort, longevity, strength, and cost. Unfortunately, this is a balancing act between these attributes. A strong mount with excellent longevity generally will not be comfortable and will not be cheap. A cheap, comfortable mount usually is not strong and longevity is a concern. The factory engine mounts for the 6th gen Camaro are designed mainly for comfort and inexpensive to manufacture. The issue is, the longevity and strength of the engine mounts leave more to be desired. For the 6th gen Camaro, the factory engine mounts are fluid-filled, providing a comfy mount that limits NVH (noise, vibration, harshness). A fluid filled engine mount uses the fluid as a shock absorber and the rubber as the support. Just like the suspension in your vehicle. One drawback of a fluid-filled engine mount is that if the rubber breaks down, the fluid can leak out, making the mount ineffective. Believe it or not, just about all engine mounts nowadays are a fluid filled and considered a maintenance item by most automotive manufacturers.
General Aftermarket Engine Mounts:
Most aftermarket engine mount companies use polyurethane as a damper instead of rubber. One of the benefits of polyurethane is its ability to beat rubber in just about all properties. Another point to consider is that polyurethane engine mounts often raise concerns about comfort, or the absence of it. A lot of aftermarket manufacturers focus on tackling the problems associated with OEM engine mounts, often neglecting comfort. Additionally, most polyurethane engine mounts on the market use the same design configured slightly different to offer the same result. A strong mount that “may” have decent longevity but offers very little comfort and costs more than the OEM offerings. Most aftermarket company’s do not have the manufacturing capability’s as OEM suppliers, thus a higher cost. People also often overlook installation cost when comparing engine mounts. As vehicles get more complex, so does working on them. Labor to change out engine mounts can be eye opening to owners with some vehicles costing as much as $2000 just for labor. Paying a little more for a superior product like the Elimivibe® engine mount system could save you money in the long run.
ELIMIVIBE® Engine Mount System:
Creative Steel has created an engine mount system that is a balance of all attributes. Elimivibe® polyurethane engine mount system is such an advancement in the aftermarket engine mount industry that we patented the design. We designed the Elimivibe® system with the intention of not just concentrating on a single quality, but rather to excel in all areas. This was not an easy task as some might think. Creating a mount that lasts and feels good meant we had to redesign how the polyurethane mount operates. Within the Elimivibe® engine mount system, there is a polyurethane cone that is confined at both ends, yet it permits the cone to expand. The expansion room for the polyurethane allows the Elimivibe® mounts to have great strength, longevity, AND a comfortable ride. To keep costs as low as possible, we designed what we call an “engine mount system”. The reason for calling it a system is, all of the working components in the Elimivibe® mounts are the same no matter what vehicle they fit. The only difference between mount A and mount B in the Elimivibe® system is the parts that make them fit a specific model of vehicle. Since most of the parts are the same between vehicle models, we can run higher production numbers of common parts thus keeping costs lower. Additionally, the Elimivibe® engine mount system will save you labor cost due to only paying for the work once.
If you are fed up with swapping out the factory liquid-filled engine mounts or need something more durable, we believe the Elimivibe® 6th gen Camaro engine mount system will do the trick!
