04-07 Cadillac CTSV Differential Bushing Block
As you may know the common “clunk” that comes from the rear of our cars (04-07 CTSV) when the clutch is pushed in at slow speeds is caused mostly by a failed bushing the front of the rear differential. The reason for the failure of these bushings is that the OEM bushing material is very soft and this bushing is under immense load when the vehicle is under acceleration.
This CTSV differential bushing block was developed to assist the differential bushing to support the front of the diff. This polyurethane block is formed to fill the void in the sub frame above the differential bushing. When installed, the diff block and the diff bushing work together to hold the diff in it’s correct position. This is essential during hard acceleration and extends the life of differential bushing.
Installation is very simple. No tools are required if installed during a differential bushing replacement. Once the diff is dropped, this block simply pushes up in the cavity above the differential bushing in the subframe. Reinstall the differential, the Block is now captured in position.
You do not need this differential block if you have our differential bushing in RED. Our red differential bushings are very stiff and need no other aids.
