04 – 07 Cadillac CTS-V Transmission Mount
Our 04-07 Cadillac CTS-V Transmission Mount is a direct replacement for worn or sagging factory transmission mounts. A bad transmission mount does not have the obvious signs of failure that most other parts have. However, when they do go bad they can cause other problems both immediate and long term.
The main purpose of the transmission mount is to hold the rear of the transmission at the proper height. Additionally, this maintains proper drive shaft alignment and shifter linkage geometry. Immediate problems could be difficulty in shifting. A common complaint is that the transmission will not go into reverse or sometimes fifth and sixth gear. This is normally due to a bad or sagged transmission mount. Further, the long term issues of a bad transmission mount are undue stress put on the drive shaft coupler. While not imperative, we suggest replacing the engine mounts at the same time as the transmission mount. Reason for this is, all three points of contact that support the engine and transmission are up to par.
